My love of recording and producing music began at the age of 15 when I went to my first recording studio. I was captivated by the experience and wanted to learn everything I could about recording music.
That curiosity took me to Nashville after I listened to The Raconteurs album “Consolers of the Lonely” I read the album credits and saw the name Vance Powell credited as Mixer, I knew then that was the man I wanted to learn from.
After interning for Vance I began my career as an assistant engineer for Dave Cobb, then became the mix assistant to F. Reid Shippen and finally joined Jay Joyce as part of his engineering staff.
The mentorship and training I received from these incredible producers set me up for the opportunity to record and mix Sturgill Simpson’s “Sound and Fury” which garnered me a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album in 2020.
Learning the craft of Music Production is a life long pursuit, knowing I still had more to learn I was given the chance to be the engineer for one of my musical hero’s Woody Jackson with whom I have engineered multiple albums, soundtracks, and film scores.
As a musician I understand it can be difficult to trust someone else to mix and master your music. I approach every project with a desire to understand your vision and the intentions that went into creating your music. My goal is to always put your voice first during the mixing process.

Unfortunately, that’s common.
Most issues come down to poor communication, unclear expectations, or mismatched taste. I make the process collaborative and transparent, so you always know what’s happening.
My expertise in recording and mixing was refined in professional studios under grammy winning producers and engineers. The mindset of putting the artists needs and desires first is founded in the on-the-job education I have received from the mentors I have worked with.
